Car hire reviewers 2014 Toyota Camry for its smooth ride, good fuel economy and a spacious interior and Toyota's reputation for strong resale value and good reliability.
2014 Toyota Camry is a four-cylinder engine as standard or optional V6, both mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Automotive writers are happy with the engine performance of the Camry, say that both engines are go. Also say test driver that the shifting quickly and smoothly. Fuel consumption at 25/35 mpg city / highway with the four-cylinder engine is good for the class. While this is not the sportiest mid-size car, most commentators say that the Camry offers decent handling and admirable tower is smooth, quiet and comfortable. Some critics note that the direction of the Camry is vague on the lower trim, however.
Reviewers say that the 2014 Camry spacious, comfortable seating and trunk. Many critics and premium materials of the Camry and processing if some are unhappy with the quality of the interior fittings and said that some plastics are poorly adapted. Most test drivers say the console gauges readable and easily accessible buttons. 2014 Toyota Camry comes standard with a 6.1-inch touchscreen, stereo with six speakers, auxiliary jack, USB and Bluetooth interface. The available functions include navigation, dual-zone climate control, a rearview camera and JBL audio system with 10 speakers. Safety equipment like blind spot monitoring with alarm-Border smuggling are also available. The Entune system option disappoint some test pilots, which makes it a little difficult to implement, a smartphone app requires and to say for an account. Auditors do not like the Entune system requires the use of data from your smartphone to work.
The Toyota Camry is a perennial competitor Tourer most sold in America, and often the winner of the title. However, we do not believe that the fire of choice for a family sedan buyers.
Why? Because, despite its reputation for reliability and practicality, the Camry simply not be in any domain, comfort with performance, the technology side.
This is not to say that the Camry is not quite acceptable in most respects, and even very good, in others - it's just that it's not better than some of the competition in most ways.
It is also easy, with more personality than you dress may know Camry - a V-6 engine, sports suspension and high-end features - it's not quite so stilted anger.
The Toyota Camry was new last year, but what happened was simply changing the point of view of style. Instead of trying the new radically different car, Toyota essentially make a look at the existing car and asked how he rethink almost all components to a better end result of fundamental values such as comfort and safety. What is he at the end, for better or for worse, was a car, a lot like the outgoing version saw, but with a more upright front, a little more wrinkles, boxier corners and a slightly different roofline. Inside, there's more to say than the Camry gets not only the best materials and details throughout, but the new dashboard-level double and corners that are pressed in a kind of outward anti-cockpit diagram amplifies the interior.
Overall, the Camry rides and drives in a sensitive manner are refined compared to a Camry to test you performed a few years ago, and the package and functions have been greatly improved. Thank you for very important weight savings, the base Camry four-cylinder works better than ever before, while the V-6 occupies a niche for those who want a particularly strong sedan, refined (but still affordable).
The interior of the Camry is one of its strengths. Thank you to a thinner design of the front seats and a new packaging, there are significantly more rear seat in newer versions. The ride comfort is impressive, and improved trunk with more room corners. Front seat are a little disappointing, however, and we recommend the SE model athlete, in part, for its
How sports a mid-size sedan can usually get ho-hum? Toyota is trying to reinforce the things with the SE version of the Camry, but Cars.com author David Thomas said the trim level only underscores the shortcomings of the car.
Camry SE versions are unique body, including bumpers and a different grille racier. Under the hood is a powerful, smooth 3.5-liter V-6, instead of the standard 178-hp four-cylinder. Poor fuel economy and driving comfort compromise its sports suspension are big negatives.
Driven by $ 23.030 Basic models four-cylinder XLE V-6-powered models from $ 31.260 topline. SE Thomas process started $ 27.260, $ 32.090 in after extras such as a rearview camera, HD radio with navigation, blind spot warning system, leather seats and sunroof cut. All prices include $ 795 destination charge.

Advantages: Spacious interior, quiet ride, handling surprisingly able abundant standard features, fuel economy (especially in the hybrid) a V6 option fave of all time.
Cons: Entune smartphone integration is not build on L or LE, inconsistent quality, polarizing tail lights available.
What's new: All Toyota Camry 2013 models are fitted as standard (not yet Model L in the last year) with an audio system with touch-screen, the system adds blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and is now available on the SE and XLE models. Minor upgrades to interior trim complete the changes.
Introduction
If you are looking for major changes for the 2013 Toyota Camry, you're a year late. The Camry has been completely redesigned last year, including more aggressive exterior design with serrated tail lights we call "adventurous". The interior gets a makeover, too, from the traditional conservatism of the Camry with a variety of eye-catching textures, shapes and curves.
We wondered whether no-nonsense Camry buyers were willing to pay for such a great makeover. But the market has spoken, and it turns out, Americans can not get enough of the new mid-size sedan from Toyota. So far, the Camry the best-selling of 2013 should be, even against the perennial sales champion Ford F-150 pickup of the vehicle.
Aggressive style aside, we are not surprised that the new Camry is so successful. Toyota did the trick loyalists Camry pleasant administered while broadening the appeal of the car with new features. In keeping with tradition, the 2013 Camry goes smoothly and quietly, and the fuel consumption is better than ever, touch 35 mpg as standard and up to 43 mpg hybrid. But last Camry also managed quite well, especially with the suspension to sport SE model calibration and technology offerings went from last to first, from the infotainment touch screen and standard USB / Bluetooth highlighted by the tail.
Notably, a number of competitors have received redesigns of their own, compared to last year, including the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Mazda6 and. They are all strong competitors, we recommend that you test drive as many as you can before deciding. But the 2013 Camry remains an excellent choice to keep based on the fruits of the overhaul last year's position of the first class.
Convenience and benefits
The 2013 Camry is available in four trim levels base available: L, LE, SE and XLE.
The base is very good, easy, its manual cloth seats with wheels 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers, but it offers a six-speaker stereo with an iPod Touch screen / USB connectivity, Bluetooth. It's pretty cool for an entry-level model.
The LE adds automatic headlights, windshield wipers with variable intermittent, mounted remote keyless entry and steering wheel audio and Bluetooth controls.
If you want the Navigation and Entune smartphone application integration, you must click on the SE, which also go outdoor sports styling elements, alloy wheels of 17 inches (18 cm with the V6), sports suspension and steering, a leather steering wheel with leather paddle shift, and what Toyota calls optimistic "sport seats".
The high-end XLE lower Goodies sport-themed SE, but adds standard power front seats (optional on LE and SE), dual-zone automatic temperature control with rear openings and fillings wood interior.
Note that the Camry Hybrid is trim in LE and XLE and comes with an exclusive suite of gauges and screens hybrid control, while the Camry V6 is only offered in SE and XLE section.
In our internal review, we found that the Camry L and standard front seats FL textbooks cover the basics, including a height adjustment for the driver. We believe, however, that the front seats - optional on LE / SE and standard on XLE - are a useful update. Unlike previous models, the driver power seat has a bottom cushion that tilts independently, so drivers of all sizes can choose the perfect angle seats.
No matter which you choose, the plate, the rear seat is nice, with a big leg and head with excellent support in the thigh for tall passengers. You can also buy larger than the Camry (Toyota Avalon own comes to mind) sedan, but you probably will not need more than this fund space.
Gauges primary Camry remains one of the simpler and more readable for the company. As usual, Toyota had nailed ergonomics, too, with large buttons and clearly identifies physical and virtual keys. Build quality can be a problem, however, that parts plastic trim at the bottom of the center console was loose and lightning in two different Camry we tested. In addition, the range of shapes and patterns can be a bit much for people who like to keep things simple.
15.4 cubic feet of trunk varied health in the regular Camry models 13.1 cubic feet in hybrid form. But not too much worry about the lack of space of the hybrid worry because the load floor flat, in contrast to the lumpy soil in the rival Ford Fusion Hybrid.
It is interesting that, although the rear seat of the ordinary Camry wrinkles in a fraction 60/40, the wrinkles of the lower hybrid at once, so that you both can not perform rear and, say, a few pairs of skis in the hybrid.
Technology
Important new technology is the 6.1-inch touchscreen, which is now trim in all standard Camry for 2013. L and LE, its main aim is to use the stereo, but it also shows your Bluetooth-directory and allows access to various settings of the vehicle. We believe that the touch screen works pretty well, but we are disappointed that L and LE models miss two important improvements: the navigation system and new software Smartphone Toyota Entune, the last one to your compatible smartphone as used platform for mobile applications like Pandora and OpenTable practices. These updates are available only on the SE and XLE models, moreover, that the XLE is entitled to a bonus 7-inch touch-screen navigation system with hard drive.
But for a car that has not always been a technology pioneer, everything is neat stuff.
Performance and fuel economy
Camry front wheel drive starts with a 2.5-liter inline-4 rated at 178 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. Optional on SE and XLE models is a 3.5-liter V6 good for 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque.
A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with both engines, shift paddles (with speed feedback circuits adapted) are included in the 4 - and 6-cylinder models SE.
Hybrid pairs is a gasoline engine with 2.5 liter 4 cylnder having an electric drive system with a battery 200 PS Likewise, the transmission of a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is to be generated.
We like the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder much more than we expected. 178 These horses are hard workers, ready, willing Camry nature through the gears, which is unusual in a family sedan 4-cylinder. So if but the V6 was the best 6-cylinder engine in its class everything, we find it hard to recommend four. But it is the best, its creamy refinement acceleration sports car of quality, we recommend that you jumped, for him, if you value performance over efficiency.
As for the hybrid system is actually a shade faster than the base four-cylinder and CVT is surprisingly sensitive - so you are not penalized in the performance department to go green.
EPA fuel economy ratings for four-cylinder Camry 25 city/35 highway regularly, while the V6 controls still respectable 21 city/30 highway.
Could be expected, the hybrid two sweeps with notes of up to 43 city/39 highway (XLE Hybrid drops slightly to 40 city/38 highway).
Security
The Camry has the usual range of security equipment and then some, stability control, and offers no less than ten airbags (front, side, side curtain and knee). A system of blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is optional on the SE and XLE models.
So, how does it work? In crash tests by the government in 2013 Camry was not perfect, but his scores four stars for frontal protection, five stars for side protection and four stars for rollover protection against were good enough to win the note a maximum of five stars. The Independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2013 Camry highest rating of "good" in each category.
Driving Impressions
As mentioned above, the new Camry is retains the gentle and calm Camry, the fans have come to expect driving. So it is no surprise. What is surprising, however, is sure-footedness found the Camry in the corners. Equal amounts of non-athletes final result very well in the handling department, while the sport-tuned SE, which, athletics has more RAM management, wider tires and a firmer suspension brings close Camry by which the class ladder, such as the new Honda Accord. Toyota has done it, liveliness, without sacrificing the quality of the implementation of the Camry is add impressive.
Other cars to consider,
Honda Accord - It's back! After the balloon to full size state in the previous generation, the 2013 Agreement has reinvented as tight sporty model that reminds us in the past agreements. Interior quality is significantly improved, as well.
Kia Optima - Common many parts of the popular Hyundai Sonata, the Optima is the sexy supermodel mid-size sedans, and it comes to performance, regular and hybrid models such as the Camry. Take a look at the excellent Turbo EX alternative to a Camry V6 cheaper sparingly.
Volkswagen Passat - The Passat has built in America certainly win the size and softness, the hearts of the faithful Toyota. It also has a nice interior, turbo diesel model is almost as efficient as the Camry Hybrid and a 3.6-liter V6 option that six Camry is a run for their money.
Recommends Weekly
Well, it's really not a bad apple in the barrel. The 4-cylinder L and LE are certainly a leader in value, but if you want the additional fuel savings or money, you can not go wrong with the V6 or hybrid are. The Camry is exceptionally well-rounded range.
